Arsenal, sole objective

Disappointing read on everybody’s lips after Arsenal sank it’s battleship in the Carling Cup, FA Cup against Manchester and the UEFA Champions League on Camp Nou against Barcelona. Regrouping, the Gunners reset their objectives, the sole purpose being to win Barclays Premier League trophy.

After all those losses, Arsene Wenger’s management is rising questions for a lot of peoples. The thrust he grants for the young players should give some real positive results, instead, all they’ve got now is just hope.

Wenger called the fans support in the one battle remained, the 10 step program to win the one trophy left, Barclays Premier League tropy.

“The fans were absolutely amazing, and we need them at West Brom now,” Wenger told the official club website.

“Hopefully they keep cheering us and keep the morale as well because we have to support each other now in that final part of the season, “The team has put a lot of effort in, but we have to focus on our next challenge – and that is the Premier League.

“We have to regroup and show we are mentally strong.” Were Wenger’s words.
First step in the program is the match against West Bromwich Albion .

City-United, a new Manchester duel is rising

Manchester is preparing for another duel, City against United in the FA Cup semi-final that looks worthy of all the good words.

In this short time with Mancini at City, the Blues lost four times to the Old Trafford red devils, the latest one  in February with Wayne Rooney’s goal witch sealed the deal.

The Italian admits it will be next season before City can really regard themselves as Manchester United‘s equals. “It is a great semi-final,” he said.

“We are very close with all the top squads but we need to improve more and maybe next year we will be at the same level.

“But it is important that we played a good game at Old Trafford last time and we have a chance to win, like them.”

Everything looks good for Ferguson’s United, based on good results until now, the semi-final is awaited on the Old Trafford.

Until then, City must recover in Europa League the two goal deficit against Dynamo Kiev.
Mancini: “Every year in football you can meet your opponent, two times minimum, maybe three or four.

“And before that we have important games, Kiev on Thursday, Chelsea on Sunday, after that Sunderland.
“We are happy for everyone but we have two more games to play before we can win the FA Cup.”

Manchester and Arsenal, preparing for war!

The title in Barclays Premier League got really interesting on the end. A lot of teams are title challengers for Manchester United ahead like Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

United coach, Ferguson, said Arsene Wenger’s side had reborn the rivalry that existed between the two sides when they were routinely considered the only plausible champions.
Looking at the tables, Manchester has only three points ahead of the others so, the battle for winning its open to everybody.

Ferguson said: “Last season they (Arsenal) faded around the February to March period to leave Chelsea and ourselves in a two-horse race that saw us pipped at the post by a point.”
“But Arsene Wenger and his players have rearranged the pecking order somewhat to come storming through to lie in second place.

“Clearly they represent the main danger to us achieving our ambitions in a revival of the rivalry of a few years ago, and I am sure they regard us as the major threat to their hopes.”

Arsenal instead, starts with a minus in the next game against Manchester United, in the FA Cup. Fabregas will be missing due to an injury suffered in the game against Barcelona in UCL. “He is out for a while,” Wenger said.

Cech nr.300

Born in Plzeň, Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic, Čech started playing football at seven years old in his native town. He played in his youthful for FC Victoria Plezen and he first started as a striker due to his hight at a very early age.

Čech started as a goal keeper in training, goalkeeper coaches took note of his abilities. By age 14, Čech grew from 180 cm to 196 cm. This drew him attention, not because of his height, but his talent as a goalkeeper.

It was Claudio Ranieri, then manager of Chelsea, who decided that Čech was the right choice for the Blues.

After the first offer rejection, Rennes accepted a second one in February. Čech agreed a summer move to Chelsea for £7 million, signing a five-year contract, from July 2004. That made Cech the most expensive goalkeeper, costing more than all the other goalkeepers put together.

Cech reached in the game against Blackpool the 300th appearance in Chelsea outfit, declaring his devotion for the team: “It’s true. I am happy at Chelsea and have no reason to change anything.”

“As long as they are one of the world’s best clubs and as long as they want me to play for them, I will be happy to stay.”

Chelsea on the wave

Another game, another victory! Chelsea won 3-1 thanks to two goals from Frank Lampard and one from John Terry, the blue’s legends, with Jason Puncheon adding a late consolation Blackpool.

This victory puts Chelsea within only nine points of Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester with a match in hand.

The Seasiders manager, Ian Holloway, whose side have won one from nine matches are just two points above the relegation zone.

Ian Holloway : “We are a bit sore because we didn’t feel we deserved that, we didn’t deserve to be more than two goals away from them,” he said. “We needed something to give us a bit of belief, we needed the second goal in the game but unfortunately they got it.”

After this defeat, they’ve got to suck it up, gather their forces and stand up in the next game against Blackburn, in the relegation battle.
